The ‘collected cigarette butts will be donated to the Landscape Laboratory (Guimarães) for transformation into a constructive structure (e-brick)’.

During the three-day plogging sessions (22, 26 and 28 of July) at Praia da Apúlia Norte and Avenida Marginal Cedovém, next to the dunes, environmental activist Carlos Manuel Dobreira collected 200 liters of recyclable waste/undifferentiated waste, as well as 400 cigarette butts.

In a press release, the big changer of the Faz por Planeta by Electrão movement highlights among the collected waste “a ballpoint pen, batteries, cans, masks, ropes, napkins, diapers, newspapers, bottles, plastic cups, scratch cards, gum wrappers and vinegar bottles, bottle tops, nets, tobacco packs, sunscreen packs, plastic forks, ice cream and lollipop packs, leftover food bags, windshield sticks, pills, plastic bottle caps, styrofoam , pill packs and cigarette butts”.

In the same text, it can be read that “most of the recyclable waste was separated for placement in recycling bins”, and the “cigarette butts collected will be donated to the Landscape Laboratory (Guimarães) for transformation into a constructive structure (e-brick) “.
