WSL CONFIRMS FOUR EVENTS IN AUSTRALIA, WITH A BIG NEW

Rip Curl will sponsor three of the four events and recovers The Search concept.

WSL announced this Monday the new Australian race schedule for WCT 2021. After much speculation and several cancellations, the entity that regulates world surfing, announced two new events to the calendar, with much surprise to the mix.

After confirming the restart of the circuit in Newcastle in recent weeks, in exchange for the iconic stage of Bells Beach, which only returns in 2022, now WSL has also confirmed the departure of the scene from Snapper Rocks, on the Gold Coast, other of the historic ones circuit stops.

North Narrabeen, north of Sydney, will take the place of Snapper Rocks, which will thus be the second stop in the state of New South Wales. This stage will have a waiting period from 16 to 26 April and, like the stage Newcastle, will have Rip Curl as its primary sponsor.

Then, at the beginning of May, WSL managed to secure the passage of the Tour caravan to Western Australia, where from 2 to 12 May the Margaret River Pro takes place, the only one of the three stages initially planned that remains on the WCT calendar.

Finally, the big surprise, with the arrival of a stage in a place practically unknown internationally: Rottnest Island. This will be an event that will recover the Rip Curl’s The Search concept, with the iconic Australian brand guaranteeing the sponsorship of three events.

Located in Western Australia, the small island of Rottnest, a nature reserve that has an area of 19 square kilometers and a population of about 300 people, will receive the best surfers in the World from May 16 to 26, in a competition awaited with much anticipation .
