Brazilian surf elite run to Nazaré in search of historic wave

Pedro Scooby, Carlos Burle, Lucas Chumbo, Maya Gabeira and others are preparing for the biggest swell of the month of October in Nazaré in the last 40 years; waves of up to 30 meters are expected

Between this Wednesday and Thursday (28 and 29), Praia do Norte, in Nazaré, Portugal, a mecca for big waves, will once again be in the spotlight of the world surfing . This is because a historic sequence of waves is expected for these two days. Two non-standard swells are approaching Europe throughout the week. This characteristic combined with a meteorology favorable to the practice of surfing on giant waves is the perfect scenario for surfers from all over the world trying to overcome limits.

It is clear that the Brazilian squad could not be left out of the show. The green and yellow elite will be in force in Nazaré in search of a historic wave. The big riders Pedro Scooby, Lucas Chumbo, Carlos Burle, Maya Gabeira, Ian Cosenza, Caio Vaz and Michelle de Bouillons are on portuguese soil and promise to brighten up the event, which has everything to be epic.

Nazaré received last monday the first big waves of the season – waves of 15 meters – an appetizer of what is to come. The expectation is that the biggest waves ever seen in October in the region of Nazaré in the last 40 years will be formed. Waves of 30 meters are expected. To give you an idea, the record for the biggest wave ever surfed (24.4 meters) belongs to Rodrigo Koxa, from São Paulo.
